ANTIGUA

Antigua is famous for 365 beaches, one for each day of the year. It has one of the driest climates in the Caribbean and its gentle trade winds and crystal clear waters offer some of the best sailing in the West Indies.

Antigua is part of the Leeward Islands and is situated in the middle of the Caribbean chain. St Kitts lies to the west and Guadalupe to the south.

There are a whole host of activities to enjoy on the island. Explore the historical sites of Nelson’s Dockyard, the only restored working Georgian dockyard in the world, and Betty’s Hope, the last working sugar mill in the Caribbean.

Sea lovers will enjoy the superb sailing conditions and divers will marvel at the beauty around the ocean shelves and wrecks of Antigua.

One of the most popular events on the island is the Sunday night party at Shirley Heights where, as the sun sets over English Harbour, steel bands and reggae music ring out over the ruined fort of the old look-out point.
